House of Whatnot offers made-to-order handcrafted mementoes of special places and times. Either a photograph supplied by you or a vintage map (sourced for you) is printed onto fine cotton and embroidered with coloured threads to make a unique and entirely personalised gift.
House of Whatnot was born in early 2013. It's owned by Sally Waite, a Bristol based graphic designer with a love of vintage cartography and beautiful things and a desire to help drag embroidery's image out of the dark ages.
House of Whatnot's products are a fabulous, quirky gift for a second (cotton) anniversary, a wedding, honeymoon, house-warming or christening to name just a few. Multiple locations can be mapped and linked up to remember multi-destination trips, such as backpacking routes or honeymoon travels. They look wonderful when a few are grouped together so are fabulous to collect to commemorate different special occasions.
